Hi! My name is Mané Peixoto and I am a visual artist, graphic designer and illustrator based in Amsterdam. I have over ten years' experience working in the cultural sector.

Drawing is a vital investigative and planning tool in my practice, and I combine it with my obsession with the materiality of printed objects, such as the texture of paper, the weight of a book and the way images and typography sit on a page.

My work ranges from publications and visual identities to exhibition graphics and illustration. Throughout these projects, I seek to convey the essence and spontaneity of drawing in the final piece, regardless of whether it is displayed on a screen, in print, or in an exhibition space.

From 2021 to 2024, I was the graphic designer at Brotéria, a cultural centre in Lisbon. There, I designed more than 24 journal issues and the graphics for 16 exhibitions. I have also worked independently with artists, authors, musicians, and cultural institutions, helping them to develop and realise their ideas.

In 2024, I won the illustration category of Portugal’s largest prize for children’s books, the Pingo Doce Children’s Literature Prize, for my illustrations for Eu e o segredo do Faraó, written by Catarina Fonseca.
